information |
Interleukin 8
(IL8) is a member of the CXC chemokine family. This chemokine is
one of the major mediators of the inflammatory response. This
chemokine is secreted by several cell types. It functions as a
chemoattractant, and is also a potent angiogenic factor. IL8 is
believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis, a
common respiratory tract disease caused by viral infection. IL8
and other ten members of the CXC chemokine gene family form a
chemokine gene cluster in a region mapped to chromosome 4q. |
|
Specificity |
Recognizes
human interleukin 8 protein. |
|
Antibody class |
Mouse IgG1 |
|
Applications |
Can be used in
ELISA and Western blotting. |
|
Presentation
and storage |
Purified
antibody is available at a concentration of 1 mg/ml in
glycine-tris-Hcl buffer pH 7.0, with 0.02% Proclin 300 as a
preservative. The antibody may be stored at -20° C for one year
in its original formulation. Additionally, antibody may be
stored at 2° to 8° C for up to 1 month without detectable loss
of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the diluted
antibody. |
